About the position

The Weekend Dining Steward / Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the restaurant environment. This role involves both manual and machine cleaning methods, contributing to a positive dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Scrap, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the dish machine.
• Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain the dish machine and other kitchen equipment.
• Empty trash and maintain trash container cleanliness.
• Unload dishes and utensils from the dish machine and organize them properly.
• Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and assisting as needed.
• Properly refill the dish machine when the cleaning solution is soiled.
• Follow proper shutdown procedures for the dish machine and kitchen equipment.
• Clean out drains and communicate with leaders about dish products and/or chemicals needed.
• Perform additional cleaning duties as requested.
• Buss the Front of House area and clear and replace bus tubs.
• Run food to tables as needed.

Requirements

• Restaurant experience preferred.
• Food Handler Certification required.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly.
• Working knowledge of sanitation procedures.
