About the position

The Weekend Operations Coordinator at California Sierra Express is responsible for monitoring and updating shipments in the transportation management system, preparing documents for drivers, and providing essential information to customers. This full-time position requires working Thursday through Monday, focusing on ensuring timely pick-up and delivery commitments, particularly at the SFO airport cargo terminals. The role involves decision-making, problem-solving, and strong computer skills, with on-the-job training provided for all operational areas.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and update shipments in the transportation management system.
  • Prepare documents for drivers.
  • Provide important information to customers.
  • Plan activities for warehouse workers and drivers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery.
  • Operate a forklift safely when needed to move shipments in and out of trailers.
  • Comply with all laws and regulations related to freight handling and transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements as outlined by relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in a similar position.
  • Strong computer skills in order entry, dispatch, scanning, and scheduling.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
