About the position

The Weekend Shift Product Test Engineer at BAE Systems plays a crucial role in providing Test Engineering support to the Electronic Warfare-Integrated Manufacturing Center (EW-IMC) factories. This position focuses on ensuring product functionality and quality through testing and troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), modules, and sub-assemblies. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering personnel and manufacturing staff to enhance product design and testing methodologies, ultimately contributing to the timely delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Support the test and troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), modules, and sub-assemblies.
  • Collaborate with and train manufacturing test personnel to debug failures down to module and component level.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, staff, and co-workers, and compose detailed reports and work-related documents.
  • Generate and implement improvements in product and test design to reduce costs, increase yield, and improve throughput.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of test data to identify necessary changes in testing equipment, procedures, or manufacturing processes.
  • Generate and review technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, and reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Test Engineering experience with an Associate level degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a STEM-related discipline.
  • Experience with manufacturing environmental screening processes including thermal and vibration.
  • Hands-on experience with test station/equipment and product troubleshooting (Debug of analog, digital, and RF circuitry down to module and component level).
  • Root cause analysis experience in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with RF instrumentation (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal sources) and control of hardware through software interfaces.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience with a B.S. level degree.
  • Experience in a high-paced production environment.
  • Capable of performing technical planning, integration, verification, and validation, evaluating alternatives including cost, risk, and supportability.
  • Experience with common RF measurement techniques.
