About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team at New Start Home Care Agency in Chesapeake, VA. As a PCA, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, making a positive impact on their lives. This part-time position is specifically for weekends from 9 am to 5 pm, offering a rewarding opportunity to assist residents in maintaining their independence and dignity while ensuring their comfort and safety. You will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as well as providing support with mobility and transfers using proper lifting techniques. In this role, you will prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and restrictions, administer medication under the supervision of medical professionals, and monitor and record vital signs as directed by healthcare providers. It is crucial to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents while promoting their rights and ensuring their privacy and confidentiality. Collaboration with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans is also a key aspect of this position. Additionally, you will provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
