About the position

As a Weighing and Grading Operator at Perdue Farms, you will play a crucial role in supporting our grain operations. This position involves a variety of duties that are essential to the handling, storage, and drying of grain and other agricultural products. You will be responsible for operating equipment and maintaining facilities that are integral to our grain operations. This includes ensuring that all equipment is properly set up, inspected, and calibrated according to established requirements and procedures. You will also perform routine preventative maintenance on the equipment within the facility to ensure optimal performance and safety. In addition to equipment operation, you will be tasked with obtaining, preparing, testing, and grading grain samples from both inbound and outbound shipments. This requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to quality standards. You will also provide weighing services for inbound and outbound grain shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements and procedures. Customer interaction is a key aspect of this role, as you will respond to inquiries regarding account information and assist in maintaining positive customer relationships. Safety and environmental compliance are paramount in this position. You will be expected to perform all work within the safety and environmental guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies, as well as company policies. Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment and maintains facilities involved in the handling, storage, and drying of grain and other products.
  • Maintains proper set-up, inspection, and calibration of grain testing and weighing equipment per requirements and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong reading, writing, math, and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of standard computer applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agricultural operations or grain handling preferred.
