About the position

The Welcome Center Associate at G&C Food Distributors serves as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring a positive and friendly experience. This role involves directing drivers, processing receiving paperwork, and conducting final inspections for trucks exiting the facility. The position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction as the company expands its services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drivers are exiting the premises with the correct trailers, temperatures, seals, and loads.
• Assist drivers with sealing the trailers prior to departure.
• Direct drivers with returns/pallet jacks where to unload.
• Collect and scan all Driver return paperwork into shared files, labeling the scan with vendor and date.
• Verify and coordinate all customer pickup orders.
• Communicate to designated staff and customers about the arrival of customers, designation of pickup, and location/door to arrive at.
• Log in and out times of all customers and vendors, while acknowledging employees.
• Correlate all paperwork from inbound drivers including PO's and BOL's.
• Assign incoming backhaul, inbound, or customer pickups a door based on the type of load being delivered.
• Provide inbound drivers with the correlated paperwork to bring to the receiving window.
• Monitor alarm system and emergency evacuations.
• Knowledge of Shipping and Receiving procedures and Transportation protocol.
• Assist all G&C Drivers with any needs such as paperwork and dispatch.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years experience in a related field recommended.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions efficiently.
• Ability to maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
