The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit is dedicated to delivering high-impact technologies for customer missions through a collaborative and innovative approach. This position focuses on the design and execution of process control experiments, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of Weld Engineering. The role requires participation in internal design reviews and collaboration with multi-discipline teams to meet technical requirements for various projects. The successful candidate will engage in the design, development, and execution of innovative research projects, applying advanced technologies and scientific principles to create new product and business opportunities for the company. In this role, you will contribute to technical teams by identifying and resolving issues, gathering diverse data related to operational programs, and participating in discussions that focus on key project issues. Documentation and validation of specific expertise will be necessary, along with maintaining effective working relationships across departments and business units. The position demands a regular and predictable work schedule, with a strong emphasis on in-person engagement at the primary work location five days a week. Occasional travel and local commuting between company campuses may also be required. The working environment includes office settings, laboratories, production floors, and cleanrooms, with potential exposure to outdoor or remote research environments. Safety protocols will be in place, especially when accessing production work centers that require protective equipment. The role is designed for individuals who can manage multiple activities and programs while providing technical leadership across disciplines, ensuring that all aspects of the projects align with the desired outcomes.
