The Weld Systems Process Engineer Supervisor will be based at Fori's Shelby Township, Michigan facility, reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing the process department staff and managing all tasks related to process validation for Weld Systems and associated secondary equipment. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling manpower requirements in alignment with the project management schedule, ensuring that processing tasks are monitored and maintained according to the master schedule. Regular updates on the status of projects will be provided to the Weld Systems Engineering Manager, ensuring transparency and effective communication within the team. In addition to management responsibilities, the supervisor will cultivate and manage both external and internal sources for SIMs (Supplier Integration Management). This includes creating specification packages for outsourced SIMs and staying current with state-of-the-art technologies in the field. The role also involves the development of standards and tools for the department, validating and improving process times, and providing technical assistance to the Proposal and Estimating Department. The supervisor will play a key role in staffing decisions based on established guidelines and will be responsible for training and assisting new employees. Conducting process reviews, both internal and external, is a critical aspect of this position, along with managing product and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) control, including station assemblies. The supervisor will analyze and validate machine ergonomics, create safety calculations and documentation, and develop and maintain formal cycle time charts and process documents. Additionally, the role includes managing the robot list, supervising system layouts and safety fencing layouts, and handling engineering change requests. The supervisor will also be involved in developing operators' walk paths and Kanban systems based on the system layout, ensuring efficient workflow and safety on the production floor.
