About the position

Honda is seeking a dedicated Associate to lead white body destruct operations and provide reporting and Weldability support for the Honda custom WeldFinder application. This role is pivotal in managing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment and maintaining a comprehensive report database. The Associate will be responsible for scheduling production yearly and new model destructs, which includes document preparation, team member assignments, safety and work training, and building schedules for E-coat body and destruct work. The position requires tracking destruct activities using the WeldFinder software, generating reports, and ensuring proper document retention records are maintained. In addition to these responsibilities, the Associate will develop and confirm the completion of countermeasures, maintain destruct tools, and ensure inspection measurement gauges comply with ISO standards. Troubleshooting of WeldFinder software updates in a test database environment prior to production launch is also a key duty. The role involves updating spot weld data in WeldFinder, including teach sheets, illustrations, and Quality Standard Sheets, while maintaining QSS documents and NDT inspection hardware for all quality check stations on the production floor. The Associate will also schedule the collection of NDT station inspection report data for compliance reporting and address any compliance issues that arise. Engineering duties will include conducting PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and Why-Why analysis, developing NDT systems, improving weld quality, and applying engineering standards to achieve business plan targets. This position is based in Marysville, Ohio, and requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead white body destruct operations and provide Weldability support for the Honda custom WeldFinder application.
  • Manage Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment and maintain a report database.
  • Schedule production yearly and new model destructs, including document preparation and team assignments.
  • Conduct safety and work training for team members involved in destruct activities.
  • Track destruct activity in WeldFinder software and generate reports.
  • Maintain document retention records related to destruct activities.
  • Develop and confirm the completion of countermeasures for destruct processes.
  • Maintain destruct tools and inspection measurement gauges to ISO standards.
  • Complete troubleshooting of WeldFinder software updates in a test database environment before production launch.
  • Update spot weld data in WeldFinder, including teach sheets, illustrations, and Quality Standard Sheets.
  • Maintain QSS documents and NDT inspection hardware for all quality check stations on the production floor.
  • Schedule collection of NDT station inspection report data for compliance reporting.
  • Address any compliance issues that arise during destruct activities.
  • Conduct PDCA and Why-Why analysis for engineering duties.
  • Develop NDT systems and improve weld quality according to engineering standards.

Requirements

  • BS in Weld Engineering/Technology or relevant experience required (preferred experience in destruct activities).
  • 0-6 years of experience based on education (preferred minimum of 3 full body destructs completed).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient with Honda custom software (Maximo, MDRS, WeldFinder).
  • Proficient with Weld Quality Standard Sheets to identify weld locations and processes.
  • Proficient with destruct work, measurement, and weld defects (edge, small, cold, interfacial, pitted, off location, missing).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SpotWeld NG).

Nice-to-haves
