About the position
The Will-Burt Company is seeking a Welder Fitter specializing in aluminum. The role involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble products. The successful candidate will perform aluminum TIG welding, select equipment, plan layouts, and ensure compliance with drawing specifications. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities and requires a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Performs aluminum TIG welding.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts using various welding techniques.
- Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Assures parts comply with drawing specifications.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and proportions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- AWS D1.2 and Military Weld Standard (MIL-STD-2219A) certifications.
