About the position

The Welder A position at Sabre Industries involves performing production tasks within prescribed codes and according to established procedures, specifications, and drawings. The role requires the completion of a Welder Training Program and the ability to pass and certify in 3G and 4G FCAW welding tests. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership for their work. This position is critical in ensuring that all welding tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall production process. Essential duties include planning, organizing, and multitasking in a fast-paced work environment. The welder must be flexible and adaptable, effectively coping with ambiguity and change while actively seeking continuous improvement in process efficiencies and work effectiveness. Knowledge of general safety guidelines and Sabre's quality expectations is crucial, as the welder will be responsible for manually positioning pole assemblies for welding, interpreting drawings and specifications, and adjusting welding machines to achieve desired results. The role also involves using various tools and equipment, such as oxy-fuel torches, pneumatic drills, and band saws, to perform welding and cutting tasks. The welder must visually inspect their work to ensure compliance with applicable drawings and specifications and assist in assembling pole assemblies when needed. Physical requirements include standing for the entire shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs. The position is located in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures, and the welder must wear protective equipment at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production tasks within prescribed codes and procedures.
  • Complete Welder Training Program and pass 3G and 4G FCAW welding tests.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to read blueprints required.
  • GMAW or Metal Core Welding experience preferred.
