About the position

The Welder - MIG position involves assembling, mounting, adjusting, and testing mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, specifically truck-mounted roll-off hoists. The role requires experienced MIG welding skills and the ability to read and understand technical documents. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with a competitive pay range based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, mount, adjust and test mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Mount hoist on truck: drilling, bolting, welding, plumbing, wiring.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience in MIG welding and related tasks.
• Knowledge in welding, drilling, use of pneumatic tools, and fixtures.
• Ability to use overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of truck maintenance and mechanics.
• Knowledge of routing and plumbing hydraulics.
• Ability to read installation instructions and follow checklists.
• Ability to recognize potential problems without necessarily solving them.
• Ability to arrange actions in a specific order according to rules.
• Ability to manipulate and assemble objects quickly and accurately.
• Ability to see details at close range.
• Ability to coordinate limbs while performing tasks.
• Ability to adjust machine controls to exact positions.
• Post-Secondary Certificate in ASE, welding, or vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in vocational body-building/upfitting is an advantage.
