About the position

The Welder position at Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. involves welding metal components using various welding techniques to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment. The role requires both independent work and collaboration with team members, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal parts together using gas welding, brazing, and arc welding processes.
• Performs thermal cutting and grinding as needed.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes in metal components.
• Positions and clamps components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding.
• Cleans up the work area after job completion and inspects the site before starting work.
• Fills out necessary hot permits and operates small equipment when required.
• Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and makes minor repairs as needed.
• Works independently and directs activities of fellow employees assigned to assist as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to weld various metals including steel and aluminum.
• Experience operating a cutting torch and identifying different metals.
• Capability to fabricate tools and mounts, and read blueprints.
• Knowledge of welding in various conditions and understanding heat limits.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
