About the position

Henderson Products, located in Manchester, IA, is seeking part-time welders to join our team. As the North American leader in the design, manufacture, and up-fit of multi-purpose equipment for heavy-duty work trucks, we specialize in snow and ice control. This position offers flexible hours on both day and night shifts, allowing for discussions during the interview based on your availability. As a welder, you will perform production welding and related activities in the manufacture of truck-mounted equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will use a welder to perform tack and bead welds according to provided prints or documentation, and may also utilize a torch or hand plasma for cutting. Additionally, you will use hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together, and remove slag. The role requires selecting proper holders and regulating current and time, with welding and cutting potentially requiring vertical or horizontal working positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform production welding and related activities in the manufacture of truck-mounted equipment.
• Use a welder to perform tack and bead welds per provided prints or documentation.
• Utilize a torch or hand plasma for cutting as needed.
• Use hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together, and remove slag.
• Select proper holders and regulate current and time for welding.
• Read blueprints and understand shop math.
• Set up and operate welding machines.
• Understand and control weld variables as they relate to weld size and quality.
• Know types and gauges of steel.

Requirements

• Must have at least 6 months on-the-job experience as a Welder.

Nice-to-haves

• Welding Certification
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Graduate of a Trade School.
