About the position
The Welder will utilize various welding techniques to weld and fabricate metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, and/or oral instructions.
Responsibilities
- Executes work in accordance with company safety policies and safe work procedures
- Utilizes TIG and MIG welding processes to weld milled steel, aluminum and stainless steel
- Utilize blueprints to fabricate needed materials/part/components
- Preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder
- Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding
- Buffs and or grinds milled steel, aluminum and stainless steel
- Properly utilizes all hand tools and welding equipment to execute assignments
- Executes vertical and horizontal welding tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Requirements
- Construction/Drilling 5 years
- Welding/Fabrication 3 years (Required)
- Reading and Building Off of Shop Drawings 1 year (Required)
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Nice-to-haves
- Auger and Kelly Bar Welding Experience (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- AWS Certification
