About the position

The Welder position at Aerotek requires skilled individuals to perform cutting, fitting, and tack welding of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers. The role emphasizes safety, productivity, and teamwork, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards in welding processes. Candidates must be able to read specifications, adhere to welding parameters, and efficiently handle repairs while being flexible to assist in other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, and tack weld all parts of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers
• Read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions
• Weld within the parameters of a WPS/PQR
• Be proficient in arc gouging process
• Maintain less than a 5% X-Ray repair rate
• Efficiently fix X-Ray and UT repairs
• Recognize and rectify sub-standard welds to ensure product quality
• Work well with others to achieve company goals
• Be punctual and willing to work hours outside of a standard schedule when required
• Step outside of welding role when a company need arises and perform basic tasks such as cylinder fit-ups
• Take pride in their work and be a company-oriented individual
• Be highly safety-oriented

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience welding pressure vessels or heat exchanger components
• Extensive knowledge of welding with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW & SAW thermal processes
• Ability to pass a weld qualification for each process
• Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee
• Ability to efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given
