About The Position
The purpose of this position is to prepare, assemble, and install vehicle and/or chipper components to required specifications for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments. The role involves reading and interpreting schematics and work orders, using basic hand tools and specialty equipment, and following established safety and quality policies. The position requires learning and operating all equipment within the work area, performing rework as necessary, and supporting APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. The individual will also be expected to maintain daily time records, install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories, test installed components, and demonstrate mastery of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills. Additionally, the role includes training new/current associates and maintaining necessary documentation.
