About the position

The Welder position at Scientific Products involves interpreting blueprints and specifications to fabricate and assemble components using various welding processes. The role requires the safe operation of material handling equipment and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Welder will work under supervision to ensure that all tasks meet engineering requirements and contribute to the overall manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Use required tools and equipment to complete welding tasks.
  • Cut, prepare, and assist in the positioning, alignment, and fitting of components.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
  • Perform TIG and MIG welding processes to meet specified engineering requirements.
  • Conduct miscellaneous fabrication and assembly of components as required.
  • Repair or rework fabrications when necessary.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and timely, including Time and Attendance Sheets and Fabrication Routers.
  • Suggest changes for improved processes and cost savings.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of welding experience.
  • Demonstrates capability to become ASME certified.
  • May be certified in one or more ASME welding processes.
  • Minimum high school graduate level required.
