About the position
The Welder position at ManpowerGroup involves performing welding and mechanical maintenance on various heavy and light-duty mining equipment. The role is essential for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of equipment used in the mining industry, requiring both technical skills and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely perform welding and mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment including Haul Trucks, Dozers, Loaders, and Scrapers.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mining and mining support equipment.
- Perform welding repairs such as gusset fabrication, bore buildup, and handrail and ladder repair.
- Conduct mechanical repairs including oil and filter changes, air filter changes, and fuel system bleed-outs.
- Operate lube/fuel truck to fuel, lube, and inspect other equipment at the mine site.
- Change out minor components such as batteries, starters, and alternators.
Requirements
- Three years of heavy equipment maintenance experience in mining or a two-year mechanical or welding vo-tech degree with one year of experience.
- Preference for candidates with a Trade Certificate.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, parts catalogs, and maintenance manuals.
- Proficient in performing welder and mechanical repair and preventative maintenance on heavy mining equipment and light vehicles.
- Ability to operate stick welders, MIG wire feed welders, air arc torches, oxy-acetylene torch, and plasma cutters.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day.
