About the position

The position involves working as a welder for a large, fast-growing mechanical contractor and custom-built HVAC equipment manufacturer. The role is focused on welding structural steel members using MIG wirefeed processes, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork. Responsibilities

• Experience welding structural steel members using MIG wirefeed processes
• Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
• Understand and follow proper safety instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experienced in 3F and 4F position welding
• Pass a 3G and 4G weld test
• Other duties as needed by supervision

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
• Certified structural steel welder experience as determined by the plant manager
• Ability to pass a 3F and 4F weld test using GMAW process on 3/8" material
• Good verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude
• Open-minded with a vision for continuous improvement
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs when necessary
• Ability to step over and work on fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in MIG welding: 1 year (Required)
• Experience in 3F and 4F Welding: 1 year (Required)
• Experience in 3G and 4G Welding: 1 year (Required)
