About the position

The Wellness Coach 2 at Humana plays a crucial role in supporting health promotion, disease prevention, and care management services. This position involves working closely with members to explain, educate, and coach them on their personalized self-help plans, while also assessing their health status and setting achievable goals. The role requires independent decision-making and a strong understanding of organizational strategies, with a focus on improving consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Support health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
• Educate and coach members on tailored self-help plans.
• Identify health problems and set individual goals based on assessments.
• Communicate with primary care physicians to update health care statuses.
• Make independent decisions regarding work methods and approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health, Health Coaching, or a related field.
• Current NBC-HWC certification as a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to facilitate behavior change rather than act as an expert.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 3 or more years of progressive coaching experience in a medical or insurance setting.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Additional health licensing (RDN, RN, PT, ICF, etc.).
