About the position
The Wellness Coordinator for Adventure Based Counseling at Mountainside Treatment Center is responsible for maintaining the educational curriculum and providing program coverage for the wellness program. This role involves facilitating various outdoor and wellness activities, including hiking, snowshoeing, yoga, and meditation, aimed at promoting mind-body-spirit recovery for clients. The coordinator will also document client interactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while continuing to seek professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain educational curriculum for the wellness program.
- Provide program coverage for wellness activities as required.
- Facilitate the Change in Action Experience, a 2.5-day activity with clients.
- Lead hiking and snowshoeing activities.
- Facilitate high and low challenge course activities as training allows.
- Conduct yoga, meditation, and spiritually oriented programs as training allows.
- Maximize mind-body-spirit recovery techniques for clients.
- Communicate with other counselors regarding client issues.
- Document and individualize group notes using approved procedures.
- Track client attendance in wellness offerings.
- Complete all tasks necessary for client experience professionally.
- Seek ongoing training and stay current with certifications.
- Design and organize classes addressing client wellness needs.
- Comply with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Level 2 challenge course certification preferred.
