About the position

The Wellness Coordinator/WISDOM Project Coordinator at Central Methodist University is responsible for enhancing mental health services on campus through education, workshops, and community engagement. This role is funded by a grant aimed at suicide prevention and aims to create a stigma-free environment while promoting help-seeking behaviors among students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education on mental health and substance use to the campus community.
  • Create a stigma-free environment and increase help-seeking behaviors.
  • Conduct mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention workshops and trainings.
  • Build relationships with campus partners to enhance access to care.
  • Organize meetings with stakeholders to implement recommendations.
  • Maintain confidential records and handle personal health information responsibly.
  • Assist in delivering surveys and analyzing data from the campus community.
  • Oversee Peer Support programming and organize related events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with suicide prevention and awareness frameworks.
  • Passion for sharing mental health information with the community.
  • Experience working with college students or young adults is desirable.
  • Experience in a clinical setting or comparable office/agency.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use issues facing college students.
  • Prior experience with an Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Apple programs.

  • Public speaking skills.
  • Ability to create presentations and organize events.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
