About the position

The Wellness Coordinator at Moffitt Cancer Center is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and monitoring organization-wide wellness programs that address the physical, emotional, social, and financial aspects of total well-being. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of health within the organization and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to create positive outcomes for team members.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain content on the Wellness intranet page and serve as the initial point of contact for Wellness inquiries.
  • Serve as the Chair for the Wellness Activities Committee (WAC) and liaison to the Center for Wellness Champions.
  • Maintain effective communication and promotion of Wellness programs using various media resources, partnering with internal marketing and communications teams.
  • Develop an annual wellness communication strategy in collaboration with internal marketing/communications and vendor resources.
  • Complete annual review and updates to existing health promotion education and marketing communications.
  • Create, plan, organize, and execute activities and programs that support Moffitt's overall wellness objectives and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources and stakeholders to drive wellness programs.
  • Identify and promote health and wellness programming and priorities in collaboration with the Wellness Steering and Activities Committees.
  • Recommend changes and modifications to wellness objectives and programs based on health statistics and program outcomes.
  • Create and maintain the overall wellness budget for the department in conjunction with the Director - Benefits & Wellness.
  • Educate employees on the importance of health and wellness and motivate them to make healthy changes.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on health and wellness topics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of health and wellness.
  • Lead community outreach and seek out community partnerships to expand wellness program offerings.
  • Administer and communicate the Wellness Reward program, including system setup and modification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR or related field.
  • Three years of experience in wellness programming/administration and/or health and wellness promotion.
  • Extensive knowledge of health and wellness topics.
  • Ability to motivate and engage team members and leadership in wellness initiatives.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Project management skills and the ability to multitask are required.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of human resources practices and understanding how one action may impact wellness initiatives and the integration with benefits.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws, regulations and agency policies in the creation of wellness programs or incentives affecting HIPAA, EEOC, GINA, ADA, or other laws in the human resources area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
