About the position

Wesley Stout Associates (WSA) is seeking a Landscape Architect / Designer to join our award-winning firm, known for its diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects. Our studio, located in the heart of New Canaan, CT, provides a friendly and collaborative environment that fosters both personal and professional growth. We are looking for creative individuals who are passionate about landscape architecture and are eager to contribute to a variety of project types at different scales. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, well-organized, and possess a strong work ethic, enabling them to thrive in a dynamic team setting. As a Landscape Architect / Designer at WSA, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative designs that reflect our progressive approach to landscape architecture. You will be involved in all phases of project development, from conceptual design through to implementation, ensuring that each project meets our high standards of quality and creativity. Your role will also include collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to bring our clients' visions to life, while adhering to local regulations and best practices in landscape design. We value strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as you will be required to present your ideas effectively to clients and team members. Proficiency in digital design tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp is essential, along with a solid understanding of hand graphics. Knowledge of local materials and plant species will be advantageous as you work to create sustainable and aesthetically pleasing landscapes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BLA or MLA Degree from an accredited Landscape Architecture program
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience
  • Experience in local entitlements and pursuing professional licensure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong digital representation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • Competency in hand graphics
  • Knowledge of local materials and methods including plants is a plus
