About the position

The West-ERS Project Manager at Vertiv is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of large-scale projects, ensuring that goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and budget. This role involves overseeing project personnel, managing resources, and providing technical advice to resolve issues, while also mentoring junior staff and developing project management processes for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, and staffing requirements.
  • Confers with Service Center Manager or Region Director to outline work plans and assign duties.
  • Establishes work plans and staffing for each project phase and arranges for personnel assignments.
  • Directs and coordinates project personnel activities to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Reviews status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares and presents project reports for management and clients.
  • Gathers and develops back-up material for change order requests.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with clients and contractors as required.
  • Mentors junior personnel and teaches good project management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience in Project, Construction, or Facilities Management.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, organize, and direct the work of others.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military writing skills.
  • Familiarity with facilities management and analysis skills.
