About the position

The West Middle School Knowledge Bowl Advisor is responsible for leading and managing the Middle School Knowledge Bowl program for the 2024-25 school year. This role involves coordinating practices, preparing students for competitions, and fostering skills such as teamwork, self-confidence, and good sportsmanship among participants. The position requires a commitment of 5-8 hours per week during the season, which runs from late October to late February, including practices and competitions.

Responsibilities

• Practice and prepare students for the Knowledge Bowl competitions.
• Coordinate and organize all aspects of the Knowledge Bowl program.
• Teach and coach students on Knowledge Bowl skills.
• Plan and conduct effective practices, typically held twice a week.
• Foster team skills, self-confidence, and good sportsmanship among participants.

Requirements

• Good communication skills.
• Experience in the field of education or coaching.
• Strong desire to work with students.
• Ability to teach and coach Knowledge Bowl skills.

• Previous Knowledge Bowl experience.
