About the position
The Agronomic Pesticide Education Assistant at Penn State University will support educational activities related to pesticide safety and integrated pest management in Pennsylvania, particularly in Mercer and Butler Counties. This role involves planning and coordinating educational events, presenting information to farmers, and collaborating with the agronomy educator team to enhance agricultural practices in the region.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning pesticide meetings and educational events.
- Prepare supplies and coordinate local events.
- Present pesticide safety and integrated pest management information to farmers.
- Support local Agronomy Educator with tasks from the Field and Forage Crops Team.
- Report impact data of activities using CRM software.
- Communicate activities with the team and area managers.
- Complete required professional development and training.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel.
- Ability to prepare and present educational materials effectively.
- Experience with CRM software systems.
