About the position

The Wet Finisher position at Metromont, LLC involves working as part of a dynamic team in the construction industry, specifically focusing on the finishing of concrete products. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and involves various tasks related to concrete pouring and finishing, ensuring high-quality outcomes in construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • General housekeeping and waste disposal throughout the shift.
  • Collect and prepare materials as needed.
  • Assist during concrete pour process as needed.
  • Level poured concrete using bull floats, boards, or screeds.
  • Finish product using light broom, rake, heavy broom, swirl broom, trowel machine, or other tools as appropriate.
  • Secure or cover finished product.
  • Clean overflow of concrete forms.
  • Operate various types of equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes, hand, and power tools.
  • Pour and screed beds with bed carts.
  • Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Able to use standard construction tools.
  • Able to read, or be trained to read, blueprints.
  • Able to work on a team.
  • Highly dependable with strong work ethic.
  • Able to understand, follow, and convey verbal instructions.
  • Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
  • Values and demonstrates safe working behavior.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous general construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with concrete finishing, bull floats, and trowel machines preferred.
