About the position

The WFO Application Engineer Intern position at Cadence offers an exciting opportunity for students enrolled in STEM or Electrical/Computer Engineering programs to gain hands-on experience in electronic design automation. This three-month internship will allow interns to work with advanced EDA tools, collaborate with technical experts, and support the sales team in a dynamic environment focused on silicon design and design automation. Interns will participate in a cohort-based program, completing a design project and learning about various aspects of digital and analog design, verification, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a cohort-based internship program with hands-on training in applications used for Digital Design/Simulation, Physical Design, Mixed-signal and Analog Layout, and Advanced Verification.
  • Complete a design project using Cadence applications for the design, analysis, and implementation of digital and analog blocks.
  • Engage in design reviews and share learnings with the intern cohort and technical management.
  • Learn fundamentals in design, verification, HDLs, synthesis, and timing.
  • Gain experience in embedded software development and HW/SW co-design and co-verification.
  • Work with UNIX, C/C++, and scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, and Python.
  • Assist in digital physical design and implementation, including sign-off for timing, IR drop, power analysis, and SI analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a STEM or Electrical/Computer Engineering program.
  • Basic understanding of digital design and verification processes.
  • Familiarity with HDLs, synthesis, and timing analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with UNIX, C/C++, and scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, and Python.
  • Knowledge of embedded software development and HW/SW co-design.
