About the position

The Sr Sales Engineer at Windstream Communications is responsible for providing technical sales support for the Carrier Network Solutions team. This role involves developing network solutions tailored to customer needs, addressing technical issues, and serving as a liaison between various internal teams and Carrier Network customers. The position requires a strong understanding of network technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development of network solutions for Carrier Network customers by analyzing customer needs and providing technical support on RFPs/RFIs.
• Identify technical issues involving network design, topology, access, and POP locations.
• Assist with solutions involving fiber builds.
• Serve as a technical liaison between the Carrier Network Solutions team and Windstream's internal support groups.
• Coordinate network interconnection with Carrier Network customers by interfacing with Windstream network planning and engineering personnel.
• Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of Windstream network, products, services, and relevant industry communication technologies.

Requirements

• College degree in Engineering or a related field and 5-7 years of professional level experience with 0-2 years of supervisory experience; or 9+ years of professional level related Engineering/Technical experience with 0-2 years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
• Skilled in the use of basic and advanced computer software including Microsoft Office and Visio.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong understanding of DWDM, SONET, and Ethernet technologies and applications.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and guidance.
• Background in network planning and engineering, data planning and engineering, or sales engineering.
