About the position
The Dishwasher position at Whale's Rib is essential for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while adhering to safety and sanitation policies. The ideal candidate will contribute to a smooth operation by ensuring that the kitchen area is clean and organized, supporting fellow employees, and completing necessary prep work.
Responsibilities
- Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Washes and provides clean and sanitized plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, kitchen utensils using Flanigan's sanitation policies
- Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift
- Maintain kitchen area cleanliness; sweeps, mops, removes debris from floor, etc.
- Perform assigned prep work, opening/closing duties, beautification duties
- Prepares and maintains dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing
Requirements
- Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop
- Can immerse hands in water frequently, diluted with chemical solutions
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
- Work in damp, high temperature environment indoors and minimally outdoors
- Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
- Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
- Support fellow employees as needed
- Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes
