About the position

The Wholesale Nursery Local Sales Account Manager at Northland Farms LLC is responsible for managing sales within a local customer base and handling outside sales responsibilities in Ohio. This role involves active sales, customer relations, order processing, and developing long-term relationships with clients. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills, with a background in horticulture or business preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing sales and service to local landscape and garden center customers in the greater Grand Rapids area and neighboring cities.
  • Prospecting for new business in dedicated areas.
  • Determining the clients' plant needs and how we fit as a vendor.
  • Receiving and processing orders accurately and timely.
  • Developing long-standing relationships with clients based on trust.
  • Interacting with and assisting customers when they come in to pick up an order.
  • Assisting the Sales Manager in the overall sales effort.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Sales experience is not required but is beneficial.
  • Mid-level experience in horticulture or a related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Horticulture preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and business leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
