About the position

The Senior Executive Underwriter is responsible for underwriting, servicing, and growing a profitable book of Excess and Surplus (E&S) Property business through a wide range of wholesale brokers. This role emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and innovative thinking, allowing underwriters to contribute creatively and strategically to the company's goals. The position requires a customer-first mindset and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions while building relationships with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, service, and grow a profitable book of E&S Property business.
• Collaborate with wholesale brokers to provide tailored coverage solutions.
• Analyze data and employ critical thinking to make underwriting decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners.
• Challenge the status quo and propose innovative solutions to business problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5+ years of Commercial Property underwriting experience; E&S Property underwriting experience preferred.
• Prior experience working within the wholesale distribution channel preferred.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with business partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to think analytically about business problems and propose solutions.
• High energy self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in underwriting named perils and all risks across multiple classes.
