About the position

The Head Boys Tennis Coach at Whitefish School District is responsible for directing the tennis program in accordance with policies set by the Montana High School Association and the school administration. The coach will provide instruction in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to help athletes achieve individual and team success while fostering moral values, self-discipline, and self-confidence among students.

Responsibilities

• Directs the tennis program within established policies and guidelines.
• Provides instruction in fundamental skills and strategies for tennis.
• Supervises high school assistant coaches and ensures adherence to athletic policies.
• Maintains discipline and monitors behavior during transportation and events.
• Organizes and supervises a comprehensive sports program for grades K-12.
• Communicates clear policies and expectations to players and parents.
• Assists in scheduling and logistics for tournaments and events.
• Completes necessary documentation for state and system requirements.
• Participates in budget processes and manages equipment inventory.
• Promotes the tennis program within the school and community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR Certification and First Aid Certification.
• Teaching Certification preferred, especially in Montana.
• Previous successful coaching experience in tennis or related sport.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid Montana teacher certification.
• Employment as a teacher in Whitefish School District.
• Experience in coaching at the high school level.

Benefits

• Part-time position with a stipend of $6,864 per month.
