About the position

The Wi-Fi Test Engineer/Architect will be responsible for testing Wi-Fi extender products and validating defects. This role requires a thorough understanding of Wi-Fi standards and specifications, as well as familiarity with IoT testing. The engineer will conduct various performance tests and work with traffic generators, while also presenting test data to executive management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Wi-Fi extender product testing and defect validation.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax standards and specifications.
• Perform IoT testing including Zigbee, Bluetooth, and Thread.
• Execute inter-operability testing with CE and CPE devices.
• Conduct performance tests such as Rate vs orientation and Rate vs Range using RF isolation chambers.
• Utilize traffic generators like iGen, Ixia Chariot, and iPerf for testing.
• Test enhanced Wi-Fi features.
• Present and communicate test data to executive level management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of technical experience with Wi-Fi in computer architecture and data communications, specifically in WLAN.
• Experience with Wireless technology testing including Wireless APs, Routers, and Wireless extenders.
• Knowledge of real-world wireless environments.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, and Switching.
• Familiarity with industry standard Wi-Fi test tools like Veriwave and IXIA Chariot, and packet debuggers like Wireshark and Omnipeek.
• Preferable knowledge in secondary home networking technologies such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in a DOCSIS environment.
• Comfortable with some scripting language of choice.
• Excellent debugging skills and experience troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for analysis and automation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
