About the position

The WiFi Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting performance testing of WiFi technologies using advanced test equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of RF concepts and the ability to work with various lab test equipment to ensure optimal WiFi performance. The engineer will also be involved in generating performance metrics and compiling detailed test reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct WiFi performance testing using tools like Octoscope, Candela, or Veriwave.
• Utilize lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Generate performance metrics (TPut/KPI) and compile comprehensive test reports.
• Write shell scripts for CPE validation and customize scripts for experiments.
• Perform debugging and root-cause analysis using various debugging tools.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Prior experience with WiFi performance testing is a MUST.
• Familiarity with tools like Octoscope, Candela, or Veriwave.
• Strong knowledge of RF concepts including splitters, attenuators, antennas, and RF shielded boxes.
• Proficiency with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Solid understanding of TCP-IP and L2 networking, with experience in wireshark debugging tools.
• Experience with device management protocols like TR-069.
• Ability to write shell scripts for CPE validation and customize scripts for experiments.
• Background in software automation (Python, Expect) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with debugging tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with L3 networking and routers is a plus.
• Familiarity with software automation tools.
