About the position

The WiFi Test Engineer/Architect at GSKsolutions Inc. is responsible for testing Wi-Fi extender products and validating defects. This role requires a thorough understanding of Wi-Fi standards and specifications, as well as experience in IoT testing and performance testing using various tools. The engineer will also need to communicate test data effectively to executive management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Wi-Fi extender product testing and defect validation.
• Understand and apply 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax standards and specifications.
• Perform IoT testing including Zigbee and Bluetooth.
• Conduct inter-operability testing with consumer electronics and customer premises equipment.
• Execute performance tests using RF isolation chambers and traffic generators.
• Test enhanced Wi-Fi features and validate product performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of technical experience in Wi-Fi, computer architecture, and data communications.
• Experience with WLAN and wireless technology testing including Wireless APs, Routers, and extenders.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, and Switching.
• Familiarity with Wi-Fi test tools like Veriwave, IXIA Chariot, and packet debuggers like Wireshark.
• Excellent debugging skills and experience troubleshooting in real-world wireless environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of secondary home networking technologies such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in a DOCSIS environment.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation.
• Familiarity with UNIX-based systems and command-line tools.
