About the position

Idaho Power is seeking four Wildfire Mitigation Specialists to join their Planning, Engineering, and Construction team in Boise, Idaho. The positions include two temporary roles and two permanent roles, focusing on the execution of the Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP). The specialists will develop and implement strategies to reduce wildfire risks to the company's distribution and transmission systems, manage multiple initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role offers flexible scheduling and the possibility of remote work up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement wildfire mitigation strategies to decrease wildfire risks.
• Manage multiple wildfire mitigation program initiatives including project planning and implementation.
• Monitor and document annual mitigation initiatives for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and monitor mitigation programs.
• Perform wildfire risk assessments and mitigation planning across Idaho Power's service territory.
• Direct contracted fire support personnel during active wildfires and train internal employees on preventative practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience in utility operations, wildfire mitigation projects, or program management.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in forestry, environmental science, business, engineering, accounting, mathematics, or statistics.
• Experience with wildfire risk mitigation activity implementation and incident command procedures.
• Knowledge of geospatial information systems and fire behavior modeling techniques.
