About the position

The Wilson Lab at UC San Francisco is seeking a Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist to manage laboratory operations and contribute to various research projects. The role involves performing cell culture techniques, molecular microbiology, microscopy, and data analysis, as well as developing new in vitro and in vivo models for imaging bacterial, fungal, and cancer cells. The position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively on innovative research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory operations and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Perform cell culture techniques and molecular microbiology experiments.
  • Conduct microscopy and data analysis to support research projects.
  • Develop new in vitro and in vivo models for imaging bacterial, fungal, and cancer cells.
  • Collaborate with team members on various research projects.

Requirements

  • For Junior rank: Baccalaureate degree in Microbiology or related science, or at least four years of research experience.
  • For Assistant rank: Master's degree or a baccalaureate degree with three or more years of research experience.
  • For Associate rank: Master's degree or five to ten years of research experience.
  • For Full rank: Terminal degree or ten or more years of research experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in animal studies and PET imaging.
  • Experience with MRI, radiolabeling, and antibodies.
  • Cell culture and microscopy skills.
