About the position

The Windows Application Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications in a Windows embedded environment, specifically within the medical device industry. The role requires a deep understanding of legacy codebases and the ability to work with minimal guidance while adhering to regulatory standards such as IEC 62304. The engineer will also be involved in unit testing, code reviews, and cybersecurity analysis to ensure product integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the existing codebase with minimal guidance.
  • Write requirements in accordance with IEC 62304.
  • Perform unit tests and code reviews.
  • Analyze cybersecurity vulnerabilities of the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development in the medical device industry.
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements specific to medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
  • Proficiency in testing tools, scripting languages, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for UI modifications.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices (SBOM, Threat model, vulnerability analysis).
