The Windows System Administrator will support the delivery staff by ensuring service levels and objectives are met. This role involves administrating day-to-day IT systems, ensuring system availability, performing backup and restore operations, implementing configuration changes, and maintaining and patching both physical and virtual systems. The administrator will install new software releases, conduct system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related problems. Additionally, troubleshooting hardware and software issues is a key responsibility, along with performing system backups and recovery using various tools and methods. The Windows System Administrator will maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for DevOps environments is essential, as is the ability to research and engineer new solutions. The role includes providing 2nd and 3rd Tier support, coordinating timely resolution of problems related to computing hardware and software, and consulting with clients, hardware and software vendors, application programmers, and networking support groups. This position requires direct technical support for all products delivered in a 7x24 hour environment, monitoring and responding to technical hardware and software problems using a variety of testing tools and techniques for desktop, servers, LAN/WAN, and voice or video networks. The administrator will also perform capacity planning, system administration, system tuning, problem analysis, and hardware/software upgrades. Developing administrative policies, documentation, and procedures to ensure that assets are properly maintained and operated is part of the job. The role may involve installing and configuring workstations, servers, printers, and data, voice, or video network components. Testing and establishing system acceptance criteria on current and new hardware and software, as well as conducting meetings with clients and other support groups to establish critical dates and requirements, are also key responsibilities. The Windows System Administrator will coordinate the delivery and staging of client/server hardware and software, configure and build server hardware and network interfaces, and complete necessary documentation for inventory and installation planning.
