About the position

The Windows Systems Engineer IV position at IDR involves leading the delivery and support of LogRhythm services for a healthcare client. This role focuses on system hardening, risk mitigation, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex LogRhythm issues. The position is a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role, and is open to fully remote candidates within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of LogRhythm on-prem and automated integration services.
  • Drive the design, development, and ongoing support for LogRhythm services, ensuring streamlined deployment from intake to final delivery.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of security controls and risk mitigation measures, focusing on delegation management, system monitoring, patching, and optimization of LogRhythm deployments.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for the Directory Services team, providing advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for complex LogRhythm issues.
  • Collaborate with other teams to automate routine tasks, improving efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Windows System Admin role, with advanced knowledge of LogRhythm on-prem and Active Directory (2012 and later).
  • 2+ years in an Engineering capacity in the Directory Services or DevOps space, focusing on automating workflows for log aggregation.
  • Expertise in PowerShell, with a strong track record of developing and automating administrative tasks.
  • Proven experience in log aggregation and event alerting across multiple platforms, including on-prem servers, Azure, and GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of API integrations and demonstrated ability to create integrations between systems using APIs.
  • Hands-on experience deploying Infrastructure as Code and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • 5+ years working with cross-functional teams, successfully delivering IT solutions and supporting complex technical projects.
  • In-depth understanding of incident, request, problem, and change management processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with Business Owners, Project Managers, and Operations teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud-based security platforms and cloud-native technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Certification in LogRhythm or similar security tools is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, or Security (e.g., MCSE, CompTIA Security+).
