About the position

The Winegrowing Data Analyst Research Internship at Gallo offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in data analytics within the wine industry. Interns will work alongside scientists and technical experts, contributing to various corporate initiatives and research projects while developing their data analytics skills. This internship is designed to enhance professional development and provide exposure to cross-functional groups involved in viticulture, chemistry, enology, and winemaking.

Responsibilities

• Develop data analytics skills through diverse project work with cross-functional groups.
• Understand and document inputs and outputs of data to support continuous development.
• Develop dashboards to assist partners in making data-driven decisions.
• Mine data to identify patterns for predictive insights.
• Model structured and unstructured data for machine learning and advanced analytical models.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics.
• Experience in defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in data analysis using Python or SQL.
• Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Nice-to-haves

• Junior or Senior class standing in college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields.
• Previous experience in natural sciences, fermentation, viticulture, or winemaking.
• Knowledge of BI Tools like Tableau.
• Excellent organizational and team skills with experience managing multiple assignments.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment.
