About the position
The Middle School Girls Basketball Assistant Coach at DREAM is a part-time, seasonal role focused on coaching and developing middle school students in basketball. The position emphasizes the importance of teamwork, skill development, and fostering a positive sports environment. The coach will work closely with the Athletics team to ensure the growth and sustainability of the basketball program, contributing to the overall mission of DREAM to support youth development through sports and education.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coaching the middle school girls basketball team during practices and games.
- Support the head coach in developing training plans and strategies for the team.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff regarding team activities and expectations.
- Attend evening and weekend games as scheduled.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience working with middle school-aged students.
- Understanding of basketball as both a player and a coach.
- Ability to commit to the scheduled practices and games.
