About the position

The WIOA Career Navigator at Southern New Hampshire Services, Inc. is responsible for providing professional career counseling and access to employment and training services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult program. This role aims to facilitate successful employment outcomes and job retention for eligible adults by assisting them with program orientation, assessments, and the development of Individual Employment Plans (IEPs). The navigator will also provide job placement services, training activities, and support services to eliminate barriers to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer orientation, intake, and eligibility determination.
  • Provide a full assessment of customers' skills, aptitudes, and barriers using various tools and tests.
  • Work with participants on the development of an Individual Employment Plan (IEP) based on their unique skills, interests, needs, and abilities.
  • Provide individualized job placement assistance.
  • Offer ongoing career counseling and case management services, ensuring regular contact at least every 30 days.
  • Conduct client-tracking functions, including timely and accurate data entry of customer information into the case management system.
  • Maintain contact and provide follow-up activities for all exited participants.
  • Attend regional outreach events as needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality of clients and staff according to policy and procedure.
  • Present a professional and positive image as a representative of CAPHR.
  • Gather sufficient intake information to make referrals to other CAPHR programs beneficial to the client.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in employment counseling, case management, customer service, human services, or a related field.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel, internet search, and email.
  • Ability to administer and interpret assessment tools.
  • Effective communication skills, including written, oral, and public speaking for conducting workshops.
