About the position

The Senior Network Engineer Wireless and/or Cisco WebEx SME is responsible for providing high-level network engineering design, installation, and support expertise across the full lifecycle of systems, services, and solutions, with a primary focus on Wireless and Cisco Webex technologies. This role requires strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as deep knowledge of networking technologies, particularly in the context of Aruba Wireless and Cisco Webex. The engineer will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Network Administrators, fostering an environment of cross-training and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external third parties to understand and implement technical requirements.
• Document design, implementation, and final configuration findings for both new and existing techniques and equipment.
• Provide support for incidents and service requests.
• Resolve network issues; complete audits; identify trends; determine system improvements; implement changes.
• Escalate problems to vendors and/or senior management for resolution.
• Create and manage problem tickets with vendors.
• Contribute to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; design cost-effective networks following industry best practices.
• Develop network design and operational objectives by designing, engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating, testing, and implementing plans for current and new technology.
• Maintain a healthy network by monitoring and evaluating network availability, utilization, throughput, and latency to mitigate and prevent future issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide on-call and critical incident response 24 x 7 x 365.
• Support occasional night and weekend activities.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge and experience in design and implementation for data networking, routing, switching, subnetting, and segmentation in a large, multi-site enterprise network.
• Experience with Aruba Wireless Hardware, Software Upgrades, and Lifecycle Management.
• RF Planning (Aruba AirWatch) experience.
• Wireless Configurations and Standards knowledge.
• Wireless documentation and diagramming skills.
• Wireless Authentication experience, including Aruba ClearPass Configuration and Management.
• Experience with Client Certificates and 802.X protocols.
• Single SSID On Ramping experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of Cisco Webex Suite including Webex Calling, Messaging, Meetings, and Control Hub.
• Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto networks, including Panorama advanced configuration.
• Experience with VMware VeloCloud, NSX Network virtualization, and AVI Load Balancers.
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Networking.
• Experience in network automation to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot network components.
