About the position

DCM InfoTech is seeking a Wi-Fi Test Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, PA for a 12-month contract. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and performance of our wireless network solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, specifically in Wi-Fi test protocols, and will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies to validate the performance of WLAN technologies. The Wi-Fi Test Engineer will work closely with our engineering team to design test beds and develop tools for Wi-Fi testing. The candidate should have experience with various WLAN protocols, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and be familiar with security protocols such as WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X. Additionally, knowledge of Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networks, and steering protocols like 802.11k and 802.11v is essential. The role requires proficiency in Linux and coding in any programming language, as well as strong analytical skills to work with Wi-Fi sniffers and packet capture tools. The engineer will be expected to conduct thorough testing on throughput, performance, stability, and stress of WLAN systems. Familiarity with tools such as spectrum analyzers, Ixia, attenuators, OmniPeek, Wireshark, Spirent, and RF equipment is also necessary to effectively carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test strategies for Wi-Fi testing.
  • Design test beds for WLAN technologies.
  • Develop tools for Wi-Fi testing.
  • Conduct performance testing on WLAN systems including throughput, stability, and stress tests.
  • Analyze data using Wi-Fi sniffers and packet capture tools.
  • Work with various WLAN protocols including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax.
  • Implement and test security protocols such as WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X.
  • Test Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networks, and steering protocols like 802.11k and 802.11v.
  • Utilize tools such as spectrum analyzers, Ixia, and Wireshark for testing purposes.

Requirements

  • Experience in software testing with a focus on Wi-Fi test protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
  • Experience with security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X).
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi extenders and mesh network protocols (802.11k, 802.11v).
