About the position

Wireless Security Engineering is seeking a 5G/4G Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to analyze the 5G system's applications and interfaces for security strengths and weaknesses. The SME will leverage their extensive knowledge of 5G/4G system applications and protocols to identify the security features of the system and pinpoint any security weaknesses. This role is critical in ensuring that the security architecture of the 5G systems is robust and compliant with industry standards. As a member of the Wireless Security Engineering team, you will be immersed in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes the importance of architecting and managing security risks associated with critical 5G systems. You will have the opportunity to interact closely with engineers who are building the 5G systems, backend systems development teams, and the Security organization. This collaboration is essential to ensure that your analysis incorporates the 3GPP 5G Security standards effectively. Your deliverables will need to account for all security domain considerations, including application security, authentication, access control, and data security. In this role, you will also collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop comprehensive security requirements for the 5G wireless system. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the security landscape of the organization’s wireless systems, ensuring that they are resilient against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the 5G system's applications and interfaces for security strengths and weaknesses.
  • Identify security features and weaknesses in 4G/5G applications and protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers building 5G systems and backend development teams to ensure security compliance.
  • Incorporate 3GPP 5G Security standards into security analysis and deliverables.
  • Develop security requirements for the 5G wireless system in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Three or more years of experience in wireless system security testing and/or development of wireless systems.
  • Experience in 4G/5G application and data security.
  • Extremely strong application analysis and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
