About the position

The Wireless Software group at Apple is seeking a highly motivated software developer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This role involves designing and developing software solutions that enhance the customer experience with Apple products. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments to innovate and create wireless connectivity solutions that are integral to Apple's product ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Develop core wireless technologies for Apple products.
• Design and implement software features for next-generation wireless products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in wireless connectivity.
• Work on wireless software and protocol development, particularly around IEEE 802.15.4 and Thread Mesh technology.
• Contribute to the development of frameworks and APIs for wireless communication.

Requirements

• Strong software development skills in C, C++, or Objective C.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer, Electrical, Electronics, or Communications Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in debugging and software design.

Nice-to-haves

• Working experience with open source software.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, WiFi, LoRa, or Thread Mesh.
• Home automation experience with relevant technologies.
• Experience in writing software for multi-threaded environments.
• Development experience with real-time operating systems.
